Apparently extremely flawed diamonds are almost worthless as they have no ornamental value. Not sure if they have industrial value. Some of them get to large sizes – 5 carets. It should be possible to use these low quality diamonds in a decorative manner. more…

I just went to visit the diamond exhibition at the Museum of Natural History in London. The Millennium Diamond was on display along with a number of others. This idea is not new – it is a rehash of a piece of jewelry I saw at the exhibition. The jewelry in this case was a number of coal pieces about the size of a large marble wrapped with diamond studded braces. The pieces were strung together to form a necklace. more…
