topicmap.com

topicmap.com is a site dedicated to all things topic maps. I set this sit eup sometime in 2000, just before joining Ontopia and XML Europe. It doesn’t get updated so often but eventually it gets up to speed.
I don’t tend to bore people as much these days about my passion for Topic Maps but I’m still very interested nonetheless. topicmap.com provides info on topic map software, vendors, resources, tutorials and news.

Hi Grant. Topic Maps is an ISO standard and a knowledge management technology which enables maps to be made between topics and resources. It is similar to RDF in many respects but has some key differences, largely around subject identity and relationship modelling. It has been around since the 1990s and perhaps had its peak in the early 2000s with the advent of XTM. There still is a small but strong community going, especially around the Ontopia project, an open source Java implementation of the standard. Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Topic_Maps for more info.
