Carbon Carbon

I just went to visit the diamond exhibition at the Museum of Natural History in London. The Millennium Diamond was on display along with a number of others. This idea is not new – it is a rehash of a piece of jewelry I saw at the exhibition. The jewelry in this case was a number of coal pieces about the size of a large marble wrapped with diamond studded braces. The pieces were strung together to form a necklace.
Idea
This can be simplified to setting a single diamond in a piece of coal. The black would contrast nicely with the diamond. The coal (about the size of a large marble) would be wrapped in platinum braces and held by a single discrete chain.
